- Arnica for bad bruises
- Bryonia for headaches much worse for movement
- Cantharis for some types of cystitis or for nasty burns
Helping yourself
In acutes or injuries, the faster you take your remedy, the faster you will heal. You can see results in hours – sometimes in minutes – and you can often stop the problem developing into other things if you get in there quickly.
You can treat short-term problems yourself using books such as Miranda Castro’s excellent “The Complete Homeopathy Handbook”. (You should always consult your doctor for anything you are seriously worried about, or go to Emergency Care for serious accidents. You can use homeopathy en route.)
However, whether you want to self-prescribe or to seek the help of a homeopath, the one thing you really do need is a remedy kit. And not just for at home: take it on holiday with you too! There’s nothing like being prostrate from food poisoning (at home or away) and being fairly sure Arsenicum would be the answer, but knowing you’re going to have to lie there ill and suffer for at least 24 hours (or 72 if it’s the weekend) before you can get hold of it!

If you are in the USA and a client of mine, then look on the PS11Collective website. They do an excellent 50 Remedy Acute Kit in 30c, as well as several other kits.
If you haven’t got a kit, I really recommend you get one as soon as you can.
